FAQ – Frequent Asked Questions

1. How much does it cost to get a website?

This is the first question people ask when talking about a website. But trying to get a price for a website this way is the same as calling a car dealer and asking how much a car cost? Or calling a builder and asking how much a house cost?

Like anything else, it is important to do an assessment in order to precisely evaluate your business needs so we can then come up with a more accurate price.  But roughly speaking, a website can range anywhere from $500.00 to $12,000.00 and up. Your type of business determines the type of website you will need.

2. What is your “Owner-Friendly Website” about?

Up until not too long ago, most websites were built in a way so that it was nearly impossible for its owner to make even the smallest changes such as add a new testimonial, or change the phone number on the Contact Us page without messing up the whole page due to its complex structure. Websites are still complex “behind the scenes” but now, with new changes in the website world, you are able to make such changes as easy as writing an email. Yes, that easy! This can save you tons of money as you do not have to rely on a web designer or a programmer to make those small changes.

3. Are all websites out there built in this Owner-Friendly way?

No. Things are changing out there, but because it is more profitable to create “dependents”, most website designing firms will not talk about this system. Also there is a whole new learning curve in order to move into this system, so if the old stuff is working and is more profitable, then why change?, or so many would think.

4. Why do I need a website?

If you sell a product or service, then you must have a website nowadays. Many things related to technology start off by being an optional thing such as cell phones, internet, email, TV, GPS, iPod, computers, fax machines, and so on … until they simply become part of our life style. According to some research done online we found some interesting statistics:

- 80% of North Americans spend as much time on the internet as they do watching TV.

- The number one hobby for retired people is not golf nor TV,  but internet!

- The number of people searching for things online is growing at an amazing rate.

5. Well, I have been in business for 30 years and never had a website, why do I need one now?

You didn’t have a website 30 years ago because 30 years ago websites didn’t exist, neither did the internet! Many people who used to think this way are quickly realizing how important it is to have a website nowadays (and not 30 years ago!) just as necessary as  a cell phone is today for any business but not so much even just 10 years ago! 6. I own a restaurant and do not deliver. What is the benefit of me having a website?

Many restaurants seem to be getting exposure and business through places like www.restaurants.com, etc due to great coupon deals. Additionally, many are adding Free Wi-Fi so customers can use their laptop in the restaurant. We see that restaurants are recognizing the fast growing use of internet and mobile internet by its customers. Then why would it not have a website? If I find great coupons for a Mexican Restaurant for example, and in my town there are 8 of them, then I want to see what type of food they have, their menu and prices, restaurant atmosphere and pictures – lots of pictures! If out of those 8, 4 of them have a website, then I take a look at them until I find something that really attracts me! Wouldn’t you do the same? Then back to the question: Why should a restaurant have a website? Well, it just makes sense…
